On October 14, 2016 the White House issued a Presidential Policy Directive that outlines a series of actions to assist in the normalization of trade with Cuba. Additionally the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) and the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) issued Federal Register Notices (FRN) that also address current trade and financial constraints with Cuba.
The White House issued six objectives in the Policy Directive that furthers their vision for U.S.-Cuba relations, which include, government-to-government interaction, economic reform, and Cuban Integration into International and Regional Systems.
